Upper Welcome Lake

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Upper Welcome Lake, Bull of the Woods (bobcat)

One-acre Upper Welcome Lake is the smaller of the Welcome Lakes. It is very shallow, warm, and exposed; there are no fish but it does support a population of rough-skinned newts. Look for mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia) growing along the shore of this lake. There is a good campsite at the Welcome Lakes-West Lake Way Trail Junction just below the lake.
