Hike Description

This easy family-friendly hike takes you to the largest lake in the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness. It is very popular so don't expect solitude on summer weekends.

The trail starts off in the forest. After 1.2 miles you will reach Lake Ann whose outlet you can hear - but not see - beneath your feet. At a junction stay to the right, and at the next junction, where a footbridge crosses the lake's outlet. Turn left and follow the trail along the lakeshore to another junction where you will turn left to head back to your car.

Fees, Regulations, etc.

  • $5 parking fee or Northwest Forest Pass.
  • A wilderness self-issue permit (available at trailhead) is required.
