Driving Directions

Via Scappoose:

Drive I-405 north and take Exit 3 for Highway 30 and St. Helens.

Drive 1.0 miles, taking the middle lane as you go below the underpass and come to the traffic light at Nicolai Street.

Keep straight here and drive 19.1 miles on Highway 30 into Scappoose before making a left turn at a traffic light onto the Scappoose-Vernonia Highway for Pittsburg and Vernonia.

Drive 17.2 miles, passing over the Nehalem Divide, Drive 17.2 miles and pull off to the left, parking to the side of the Weyerhaeuser gate on the Pebble Creek Mainline. Do not block the gate! (There's also a pullout across the highway at the "Tropical Legacy" display.)

Via Vernonia:

Drive Highway 26 west. From the merge with Highway 217, it’s 23.3 miles to the junction with Highway 47N.

Turn right here for Vernonia and Clatskanie. Drive 14.5 miles into Vernonia and turn right onto Bridge Street.

Drive 1.3 miles through downtown Vernonia, cross Rock Creek and the Nehalem River, and bear left at Pebble Creek Road for Mist and Clatskanie.

Go another 4.2 miles to the junction of Highway 47 and the Scappoose-Vernonia Highway.

Go right here for Scappoose and St. Helens and drive 3.2 miles. Pull off to the right, parking to the side of the Weyerhaeuser gate on the Pebble Creek Mainline. Do not block the gate! (There's also a pullout across the highway at the "Tropical Legacy" display.)
