In Prairie City, turn right onto Bridge Street for the Huddleston Trailhead, Rest Area, and Prairie City Interpretive Site; from this intersection, it’s 8.4 miles to the junction with FR 13 (Bridge Street curves around to the left and becomes Summit Prairie Road (County Road 62).

Turn left on FR 13 for Short Creek, the North Fork Malheur, and Elk Flat; drive 12.0 miles to turn left on FR 1370 for the Little Malheur Trail, Elk Flat Spring, and the Table Rock Lookout.

In 4.2 miles, turn left at a junction for the Little Malheur Trail, Elk Flat Spring, and the Table Rock Lookout.

Proceed 0.3 miles, and turn left on a ridge crest to keep on FR 1370; the road now becomes more rutted and sometimes rocky.

Go another 1.1 miles, and turn right for the Table Rock Lookout.

Continue for 3.8 miles on a narrow, rocky track to a sharp bend and pull off to the right at a kiosk. This is the Table Rock South Trailhead for Monument Rock.
