Driving Directions

From downtown Grants Pass:

Drive south on 6th Street. From the junction with A Street, it’s one mile to the bridge over the Rogue River.

Keep straight here for Murphy, Jacksonville, and Highway 238. In 0.2 miles, reach the junction with Highway 199 (the Redwood Highway), and turn right for Rogue Community College, Cave Junction, and Crescent City.

In 28.3 miles, you’ll pass the junction for the Oregon Caves National Monument in Cave Junction.

Continue on Highway 199 another 6.4 miles, and make a left turn onto Waldo Road for Takilma and Happy Camp.

Drive 4.8 miles and come to a crossroads with Takilma Road.

Keep straight here on Happy Camp Road, which becomes FR 48, for 12.4 miles, passing the Page Mountain Sno-Park and crossing the border into California.

Turn left on FR 4812, a narrow gravel road, and proceed 0.8 miles.

Keep right at the next junction, and go 0.6 miles.

Stay left at another junction, and 0.4 miles.

At the next junction, keep right, and drive 2.3 miles to a junction signed for Bolan Lake.

Turn right here, and go 3.2 miles to a junction.

Turn right again, and drive narrow FR 041-570 1.5 miles to a campsite and blank brown trailhead kiosk on your left.
