Access Road-Vista Loop Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The junction marked by a brown post; Eightmile Creek behind (bobcat)

The junction is just east of Eightmile Creek where the Stagecoach Road built during the Yakima Wars crosses it. Just north of the junction is a lush meadow shaded by locust trees, the site of the 1879 John Lucas Homestead. A large and active warren of Columbia ground squirrels resides under the locusts.
