Roaring Creek Trailhead

This trailhead lies within the boundary of extensive wind-driven fires that burned in September, 2020.
It and the trails that it services are presumed closed until further notice.

Hikes starting here

Driving Directions

From Mt. Hood:

Keep left on Highway 26 at its junction with Highway 35 and drive 9.2 miles before turning right onto Skyline Road (FR 42) for Timothy Lake and Olallie Lake.

Drive 19.0 miles on Skyline and go left on FR 4210 for Olallie Lake.

After 2.8 miles, keep right at the junction with FR 4220.

Drive another 5.0 miles and come to FR 46, the Clackamas River Road.

Drive 18.7 miles and turn left onto gravel FR 4685.

Go 2.3 miles, crossing the North Fork Breitenbush River, and park on the right after crossing Roaring Creek.

Through Estacada:

From the east end of Estacada, at the junction with 211S for Molalla, continue straight on Highway 224E for North Fork Lake.

Drive 25.6 miles past the Ripplebrook Guard Station to a junction with FR 57 just past the bridge over the Oak Grove Fork.

Bear right here on FR 46 for Detroit and Bagby Hot Springs.

Drive 33.5 miles and turn left onto gravel FR 4685.

Go 2.3 miles, crossing the North Fork Breitenbush River, and park on the right after crossing Roaring Creek.

Via Salem:

Drive I-5 south through Salem and take Exit 253 for Highway 22, Detroit Lake, and Bend. After making the exit, turn left onto Highway 22.

Drive 49.5 miles to Detroit and turn left onto FR 46 for Breitenbush, Elk Lake, and Olallie Lake.

Drive 11.7 miles and turn right onto gravel FR 4685.

Go 2.3 miles, crossing the North Fork Breitenbush River, and park on the right after crossing Roaring Creek.
