Lava Canyon-Ship Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The unmarked junction described here. The left trail heads to The Ship. The right trail drops to a wet area then uphill toward the big ladder. (Steve Hart)

Description

The trail junction is unmarked and it's a little hard to see. If you're walking uphill on the Lava Canyon Trail, the Ship Trail heads slightly to the left in a group of small firs. The Lava Canyon Trail continues into a small, swampy area. If you get to the big ladder you've gone to far.

If you're hiking down from the Lava Canyon Trailhead, the Ship Trail is shortly past the big ladder, right after you pass through an alder bog.
