Driving Directions

From Blue River, OR, travel 4 miles east on Highway 126, and turn right onto Forest Road 19 (Aufderheide).

Stay to the right at the Y junction, and continue for 3 miles to the dam on Cougar Reservoir.

Turn left across the dam onto Forest Road 1993, and drive 3 miles. The pavement ends here at the East Fork Lower Trailhead.

Drive an additional 5.4 miles on Road 1993 to reach East Fork Upper Trailhead.

Fees, Regulations, etc.

  • No parking fee at this trailhead
  • Forest Road 19 is not maintained for snow
