Chenamus Lake

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Secluded bay of Chenamus Lake (bobcat)

Description

Chenamus Lake is an easy short destination from the Placid Lake Trailhead in the northwest sector of the Indian Heaven Wilderness. There are campsites here for overnighters and late summer sees the area come alive with berry pickers (No commercial picking allowed in the Wilderness, though).

Around a secluded inlet on the lake, you can pick up the abandoned continuation of the Chenamus Lake Trail that connects, via Rush Creek, with the abandoned Cascade Crest Trail and thence the latter's replacement, the Pacific Crest Trail.
