Driving Directions
Drive Highway 26 west from Portland. From where the I-217 entrance joins Highway 26, it’s 68.9 miles to where the highway splits to join Highway 101.
Bear right here for Seaside and Astoria and, in 0.4 miles, merge with Highway 101 north.
Drive north on 101 for 18.9 miles, crossing the Youngs Bay Bridge and reaching a roundabout. Go left here for Astoria City Center.
In 0.5 miles, turn left for Highway 101N, Ilwaco, and Long Beach.
Drive 4.3 miles across the Astoria Megler Bridge and turn left at the junction with Washington’s Highway 4 for Highway 101N, Ilwaco, and Long Beach.
Drive 2.5 miles and, after passing through a tunnel, turn left for Fort Columbia State Park.
Bear left heading up the hill and, after 0.2 miles turn left for Restrooms and Gun Battery Parking.
Pass along Officers’ Row and, in 0.1 miles, come to a T-junction. Turn right here and park on the left under tall Douglas-firs and Sitka spruce.
