june lake/st.helens treeline snowshoeing

hey folks,we had an awesome trip to st.helens today.the last day of the year couln't have been any better.it was all fresh snow,and deep.there was a few folks that had paved the way before us (bless them)we talked to some climbers that had made the first tracks the night before.all the snow was still on the tree's and hadn't blown or fell off yet,it was a winter wonderland.we hiked up the june lake trail,crossed over through the small canyon onto the ski trail and went up to the tree line for a look,and then continued back down the ski trail.the lake was about half frozen and covered,but beautiful as ever.the icicles gave it the special look.here are some pics...........bobby
