Wildlife Images (It's a place) Found owl in need.

Posted by mdvaden (2007-10-23)
pdxgene just posted some images, and one was an owl... It reminded me of a place we went to about one week ago that rehabilitates wild animals. This started with finding a small screech owl and needing a place for it to recover.

My owl photo and images of the place - called "Wildlife Images" - is...

Now, that's my album. I just noticed I need to get rid of the "We" - I had borrowed their description to convey what they do in their own basic words. So it's not my place and I don't work there. Just brought in an owl for help and took some photos. It's in Grants Pass by the way, 11 miles north on G street.

The location's website is...

Wildlife Images Own Website

From what I understand, they can take animals from Oregon. And release near where found.

They cannot handle starlings, squirrels and other animals that would bury them in fur piles. Some they are not allowed to take anyway.

I'm glad I called them, because the recording at night said not to feed animals. Later, they said whereas I could feed cooked chicken or something to our Parrots, that that can't be done to owls due to the specialized diet.

Anyway, I may never get to hold an owl again, so I'll remember it. Twice as soft and cuddly as any of our parrots or conures.

Thanks for sharing those.  I like the Bobcat pic!

That must have been quite an experience holding the owl!
