Columbia gorge Loop

Posted by daetrip (2006-07-09)

I just did this 3 day 41mile loop 12.5, 6.5 and 22mile days.

The Lorain book is pretty good. Trail is good to Deadwood camp then little used brushy unmaintained in places all the way two Whatum lake. Very passable though and all junctions were marked fairly well. Chinderie (?sp) Mt. was the highlight I guess.

I renamed the old road between Rainey lake and Whatum lake "Mosquito Alley" though!

To Daetrip: What route did you take exactly? I've been interested in a trip to this area for a while. I've been to the top of Chinidere as well, it was an incredible view. Joe
