Description
The Harlow House was constructed in 1900 by Fred E. Harlow, son of Captain John Harlow, the founder of Troutdale. Lou Harlow, another of John Harlow's sons, was a later occupant of the house and mayor of Troutdale, as was Lou's wife, Laura.
Captain Harlow built fish ponds at the base of the bluff near here in 1870. He stocked them with trout and named his farm Troutdale. The Harlow House is open most Sunday afternoons from 1:00 – 4:00.
