Hike Description
The Bridal Veil Falls hike is a short hike from a trailhead right off the Columbia River Highway to a majestic falls. It is a favorite of tourists and families on summer weekends, but is pretty quiet at other times. This trail starts from the east end of the lot as a flat, paved trail. Soon, it changes to gravel and works it way down in one long switchback to Bridal Veil Creek. There's a staircase down the side of the valley and a beautiful wooden arch bridge over the creek. The trail then climbs to a wooden lookout with a view of Bridal Veil Falls. This watercourse ran near-dry for decades as a neighboring lumber mill diverted the water. Now the mill is a memory and Bridal Veil Falls has returned. Many, many names and hearts are carved here in the handrails of the lookout. Hikers in the park should check out the Bridal Veil Loop Hike, as well.
