HWY 20 Santiam Pass PCT to Minto Pass

Post by blaneclark » July 6th, 2017, 1:58 pm

Hey all, I am an Oregonian transplanted to Nashville, TN. I'll be back in Oregon the last two weeks of July. I plan to do a day hike from HWY 20 Santiam Pass to Marion Forks via the PCT, by 3 Fingered Jack and then the Minto Pass Trail (3437) and finally the Marion Lake Trail. Does anyone know the conditions/snow levels on that part of the PCT and Minto Pass Trail? I have an option to go at a lower elevation via Santiam Lake route if need be.

Thanks!

I heard in that area that it was pretty much melted out below 6200' as of a couple days ago.

Thanks for the info. I'll be skirting right along 6200 in a couple of weeks so should be good to go.
