Jerry

That's exacting the reason I did not show the location - the haters!

It's simple stacks, no balancing, so it may not have taken a lot of time.

But its an interesting configuration and a nifty setting.

Must... kick... cairns...

(Jerry doesn't believe this, but I would never kick over a cairn -- it's just those new-agey rock stacks that get the boot from me... )

Tom :D

Here's one I saw last October at Ramona Falls:

(For the record, I don't understand the hate. They're not hurting anything.)

I wonder how they made that?

Maybe one person holds it up while another places the next rock?

Maybe space aliens because it's unimaginable that humans could do something like that?

Adam

Thanks for adding your photo. That is one of the best I have ever seen!

And I agree that its hard to understand the haters. These cairns just add another interesting aspect to the beautiful outdoors....

If you ever followed cairns that led you the wrong way, you might understand. Or had cairns going in every which direction. And some people just want to have a place where they have to find their own way. I don't really hate them, but I can understand people who want a place without them.
