Timberline Trail Recon - Eliot Crossing to Elk Cove?

Post by Splintercat » August 22nd, 2016, 4:57 pm

Looking for recent reports on the Timberline Trail between the Eliot Branch crossing and Elk Cove -- have you hiked this recently? Trailkeepers of Oregon is working with the USFS to plan some trail projects, and we've heard reports of a lot of logs down in this section (which hasn't been maintained since the Eliot Branch crossing washed out ten years ago). If you've got info (and even better, photos!), please let us know! Thanks!

About half way between Coe and Eliot there's a big wad of trees across the trail. Many greater than 12 inches in diameter.

No way to get through them, but there's a use trail around them that's not too bad.

Been there for years. From before Dollar Lake fire?

Next time I go through there I'll get pictures and exact location.
