Using the form below "Having trouble with the site search below? Try using Google" on the Search page isn't working right, at least for me. The results contain only ads, and no links to anything on oregonhikers.org.
On-site Google Search isn't working for me
Re: On-site Google Search isn't working for me
I just tried it and my results were even worse!
Re: On-site Google Search isn't working for me
I just updated it and it is working again. Still lots of ads at the top though.

Thank you. Ads are expected; absence of results are not.

This seems to be broken again: "Unauthorized access to internal API. Please refer to https://support.google.com/customsearch/answer/4542055"
Re: On-site Google Search isn't working for me
So, Google search won't work for anyone now since the upgrade. I hadn't been able to recreate this issue that people were having on the old version.
It looks like there is an add-on we can install that has Google search. I'll try that out.

Martell, is there reason to believe that with the new version of phpBB, non-Google searches will actually WORK now?

Not really. Try searching for "eagle creek".adamschneider wrote: ↑April 15th, 2018, 6:24 pmMartell, is there reason to believe that with the new version of phpBB, non-Google searches will actually WORK now?
If you allow more words the search index gets HUGE.
There's a reason Google got so popular, and they are a lot better at developing a search algorithm than the phpbb people.
