Driving Directions

Driving I-205, take Exit 12A for Highways 224 and 212, Clackamas and Estacada.

From the first traffic light, drive 3.3 miles and bear right for Highway 224E, Carver, and Estacada.

Drive 15.3 miles on Highway 224. After passing through Estacada, keep straight for North Fork Lake at the junction with Highway 211 (Molalla).

Drive another 25.7 miles, passing the Ripplebrook Ranger Station and then the campground. After crossing the Oak Grove Fork, bear right on FR 46 for Detroit and Bagby Hot Springs.

Drive 3.7 miles and turn right onto FR 63 for Bagby Hot Springs.

Go 3.6 miles on FR 63, and make a right turn onto FR 70.

Drive 7.5 miles, passing Bagby Hot Springs, and turn left onto gravel FR 7020.

This is a narrow, alder lined gravel road with a few potholes. The road winds up for 6.7 miles. Keep to the main track. (In 6.1 miles, you’ll see FR 7030 coming in from the right. It’s 0.6 miles from this intersection to a spur leading down to the left for the Whetstone Mt. Trail.)

Drive 0.1 miles down to the parking area and trailhead.
