Fees and Regulations

An ODFW permit is required to park at this trailhead. Daily permits are $7, and an annual permit is $22. They are available at the following locations:

  • ODF&W Office - 18330 N. W. Sauvie Island Road
  • The Cracker Barrel Store – 15005 N. W. Sauvie Island Road
  • Reeder Beach RV Country Store – 26048 N. W. Reeder Road

Driving Directions

From Portland, take Highway 30 west to the Sauvie Island bridge. Turn right and go over the bridge, and the road becomes Sauvie Island Rd. Just after crossing the bridge, stop at the Cracker Barrel store on your left to pick up a permit if you don't have one. Continue west on Sauvie Island road for two miles and turn right onto Reeder Road. Take Reeder Road 12 miles to the trailhead at its terminus.

Other Notes

The last mile or two of Reeder is gravel, but it is well maintained and safe for passenger cars.
