Driving Directions
From Klamath Falls:
From downtown Klamath Falls (Main and 7th), follow Main Street southwest for 0.6 miles.
After passing under Highway 97, turn left for Highway 97, Medford, Ashland, and Weed. Merge with the highway, and drive south for 1.8 miles.
Take Exit 277 for Highways 66 and 140, Lakeview, Medford, and the Airport. When you reach Highway 140/66, turn right and go 0.1 miles.
Then make a right turn onto Highway 140W. Drive up this road for 21.1 miles, and turn left onto FR 3627 for the Varney Creek Trailhead.
Proceed up this red cinder road for 1.7 miles, and bear left onto FR 3664 for the Varney Creek Trailhead.
Motor up another 2.0 miles to the trailhead, which is on your right. You can either pull off and park here or continue up to the turnaround above the trailhead.
From Medford:
From downtown Medford (Fir and 4th), drive east on 4th Street and turn left on Riverside Avenue (Highway 99).
Head north for 1.1 miles, and keep right to merge with Highway 62 for Crater Lake.
After 1.2 miles, bear left onto the Rogue Valley Express Way.
Continue north for 4.4 miles before rejoining Highway 62, where you’ll make a left.
Go 0.5 miles, and then turn right onto Highway 140E for Lake of the Woods.
Stick with Highway 140 for 47.6 miles until you make a right turn onto FR 3627 for the Varney Creek Trailhead.
Proceed up this red cinder road for 1.7 miles, and bear left onto FR 3664 for the Varney Creek Trailhead.
Motor up another 2.0 miles to the trailhead, which is on your right. You can either pull off and park here or continue up to the turnaround 100 yards above the trailhead.
