Hike Description
NOTICE: This trail is closed until further notice because of damage from the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire. Please check the list of Columbia Gorge trail closures before you plan for a hike.
Upper McCord Creek Falls is hidden away above mighty Elowah Falls. Pictures fail to do the matched pair of waterfalls justice. Though smaller than Elowah, they're a lot bigger than they seem at first glance. This is a fairly easy hike, appropriate for most beginners. There is a reasonable amount of climbing and a ledge section protected by sturdy handrails. The handrails protect make this hike completely safe to all but the most foolhardy of hikers.
Consider combining this hike with the Elowah Falls Hike.
Maps
- Maps: Hike Finder
This map is a bit misleading. Elowah Falls is where the top trail on the map crosses the creek. Upper McCord Creek Falls is where the bottom trail meets the creek.
