Follow the Santiam Highway for another 22.8 miles, and pull in to the right at the Trout Creek Trailhead.
  
From I-5, take exit 2xx and get on Highway heading east, towards Sweet Home. Go xxx miles, traveling through Sweet Home, and find the trailhead on the left, across from the entrance to the Fernview campground.

This is also the parking area for the Walton Ranch Trail. This trail provides a short climb up handicap accessible switchbacks to a platform deck with views across the highway into a large meadow frequented by elks(see picture above). There is a nice creekside picnic bench about 50 yards up trail.

Driving Directions

From I-5:

Drive I-5 south and take Exit 228 for Highway 34, Lebanon, and Corvallis.

Turn left after exiting, and follow Highway 34 for 9.1 miles into Lebanon.
