From Portland, drive east on I-84 to Cascade Locks. Cross the [[Bridge of the Gods]] and turn right on Highway 14. Drive through Stevenson, then turn left on Wind River Road, marked for Carson. Drive up the hill to Carson then continue north on Wind River Road for another 13 miles to the fish hatchery. Turn right and continue on Wind River Road for 15 more miles to the Rush Creek Snowpark. Turn right on Road 6507 and drive 4 miles to the end of 6507 at Road 65. Turn left on Road 65 and drive a half mile to the trailhead on the right.

Driving Directions

Drive I-84 east to Exit 44 for Cascade Locks and Stevenson.

From the freeway, drive for 0.4 miles and bear right for the Bridge of the Gods toll bridge and Stevenson.

Drive 0.8 miles, paying the $2 toll and crossing the Columbia River, to the junction with Highway 14.

Go right here for Stevenson and Kennewick. Drive 5.9 miles, passing through Stevenson, and make a left at a roundabout for Carson and the Wind River Recreation Area.
