Description
Tanner Mountain is a 6,298 foot prominence in the Oregon Siskiyous close to the California border. On a clear day, you’ll get commanding views over the entirety of the Siskiyous, including down to East Tanner Lake and the Illinois River valley in Oregon as well as Preston Peak, the upper Klamath drainage, and Mount Shasta in California.
The summit can be reached by via a meadow on Thompson Ridge where the Boundary Trail crosses the ridge. The easy cross-country involves a traverse of a meadow to a saddle and then a short ascent along a manzanita thicket to the top.
