Sturgeon Rock is traditionally known as the high point of Clark County. The rock actually crosses the county border into Skamania County at the point where a cairn sits. The USGS has the location of Sturgeon Rock incorrect. Please see the descrepency by clicking on one of the map links above. Local hikers including Don Nelsen fought to have the USGS recognize the mistake and modify the labelling on future maps. As of Summer of 2006 they have agreed to do so. | ||

Description
