Description
This is a replica of Eugene Skinner's original log cabin, which stood on the west side of Skinner Butte. Skinner arrived in this area via the Applegate Trail, and he and his wife Mary staked a land claim on the west side of Skinner Butte. They began farming here and, in April 1851, Skinner began platting the town that was to become Eugene.
