Description
Siouxon Peak is the high point on the wooded ridge north of the Siouxon Creek drainage and is surrounded by old growth montane forest and revegetating avalanche tracks although clear cuts are not far away. Mount Hood can be seen to south, partially eclipsed by Observation Peak. You can’t see Mount Saint Helens, obscured by a forest wall of noble fir, but the other Mount Rainier and Mount Adams are visible.
Some remains of the old lookout can also be seen. A cupola-style lookout was constructed here in the 1920s, to be replaced in 1935. The lookout tower was probably demolished in the 1960s.
