From Portland drive north via I-5 and SR 502 or I-205 and SR 503 to the town of Battle Ground in north Clark County. Then continue north on SR 503 to Rock Creek Road. Turn right on Rock Creek Road. Follow Rock Creek road, which becomes Lucia Falls Road, for 8.8 miles. Just passed the [[Moulton Falls Trailhead]], you'll turn right on to Sunset Falls Road. Drive 7.7 miles on Sunset Falls Road to the Sunset Falls Campground. Turn right on Road 41, go through the campground and cross the East Fork of the Lewis River. 3.4 miles later, turn right on Road 4109. Follow Road 4109 and stay left at an unmarked intersection. Warning
The last 8 miles is on a rough road with potholes, boulders, stream channels, and washboarding. You could get a flat tire, break an axle, or other damage. Many standard passenger cars do this road, you just have to be slow and careful.
Forest Service Roads are not plowed, and especially during the winter conditions can change at any time. It is wise to carry a shovel and saw in case of slides or blowdowns. Access current conditions before planning a hike.
