Driving Directions

Via Estacada:

Take Exit 12A on I-205 South for Clackamas and Estacada, Highway 212E and 224E.

Drive 3.3 miles and bear right for Carver and Estacada on 224E.

Go 14.9 miles, passing through Estacada, to the junction for 211S for Molalla.

From this junction, continue straight on Highway 224E for North Fork Lake. Drive 25.6 miles past the Ripplebrook Guard Station to a junction with FR 57 just past the bridge over the Oak Grove Fork.

Bear right here on FR 46 for Detroit and Bagby Hot Springs. Drive 21.8 miles and make a left turn onto FR 4690.

Go 8.2 miles (after 6.3 miles the road becomes gravel) to a junction and go right on FR 4220 for Olallie Lake.

Pass through an open gate and drive 1.4 miles on corrugated gravel to turn left at the sign for Olallie Meadows Campground.

Drive 0.1 miles to the end of the spur and park at the trailhead.

Via Government Camp:

Drive Highway 26 east. From the last traffic light in Sandy, just past the ARCO station, drive 40.3 miles on Highway 26, passing through Government Camp, and turn right for Timothy Lake, Olallie Lake, and Skyline Road.

This is Forest Road 42. Keep on this road for 18.9 miles and then keep left for Estacada and Olallie Lake at the junction with FR 4210.

Drive another 3.5 miles and make a left onto FR 4220 (This junction is unsigned).

Drive 2.7 miles to a four-way junction, and bear right to keep on paved, but rough, Skyline Road.

Drive 4.1 miles (After 2.3 miles, the road becomes a narrow, unpaved dirt track – high clearance recommended!) to the junction with FR 4690, which comes in from the right.

Keep straight here, and pass through an open gate to drive 1.4 miles on gravel; then turn left at the sign for Olallie Meadows Campground.

Drive 0.1 miles to the end of the spur and park at the trailhead.

WARNING: The four-mile section of Skyline Road north of the junction with FR 4690 is in bad shape. Drive slowly. High clearance recommended.

Fees / Regulations

  • Olallie Meadows Campground closed because of "hazardous trees."
  • No swimming in Olallie Lake
