  • Pay attention to tide tables: China Beach cannot be hiked at high tide.

Driving Directions

From Brookings:

From the traffic light at Center Street in Brookings, drive north on Highway 101 for 9.7 miles.

Turn left into the pullout for the North Island Trail Viewpoint (This is 0.2 miles north of the Thomas Creek Bridge).

From Gold Beach:

From the center of Gold Beach at the intersection of Highway 101 and 1st Street, drive south on Highway 101 for 18.9 miles.

Turn right into the pullout for the North Island Trail Viewpoint.
