Looking north from Porter Point to Haystack Rock, Cape Kiwanda, and Cape Lookout (bobcat)

Description

The mouth of Nestucca Bay lies opposite the dark cliffs of Porter Point with the verdant fields of Cannery Hill above. Farther south, Cascade Head nudges its massive form into the Pacific Ocean.

Harbor seals are common here and may be basking at the bay mouth on sunny days. Keep your distance and make sure your dog is under control. You can walk the bayshore at low tide until you reach a soggy wetland area, at which point you need to turn back and head inland.
