Hikes starting here

Fees and Regulations

  • Dogs on leash
  • Beginning July 20th, 2021, a reservation is required to park at Multnomah Falls between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ($1 transaction fee)
  • Only the I-84 parking area can be used at this time.
  • Restrooms, restaurant, visitor center at Multnomah Falls Lodge

Driving Directions

Drive east from Portland on Interstate 84 to Exit 31 near Mile 31. This exit is accessible from I-84 in either direction. Walk under the footbridge to Multnomah Falls Lodge.

Alternatively, exit I-84 at the Bridal Veil Exit (28) and drive the Historic Columbia River Highway eastward to the Multnomah Falls Lodge parking area.

Alternatives to Driving

  • Columbia Gorge Express runs buses seven days a week between the Gateway Transit Center (Portland) and Hood River. The bus stops five times daily at Multnomah Falls.
  • Sasquatch Shuttle (parking at Bridal Veil) stops at several Gorge trailheads between the Portland Women's Forum and Horsetail Falls, including Multnomah Falls.
