Driving Directions
Via Cascade Locks:
Drive I-84 east to Exit 44 for Cascade Locks and Stevenson. After exiting, go 0.4 miles, and turn right for the Bridge of the Gods Toll Bridge and Stevenson.
Drive 0.7 miles to pay the $2 toll, cross the Columbia River, and reach the junction with Highway 14.
Turn right here for Stevenson and Kennewick, and drive 14.9 miles, passing through Stevenson, before making a left turn onto Cook-Underwood Road for Mill A and Willard.
Go 5.2 miles and make a left onto Willard Road.
After 1.4 miles, reach Willard and bear left on Oklahoma Road.
Continue 7.2 miles (Oklahoma becomes FR 18) and, past MP 7, turn right on FR 1840: if you pass Oklahoma Campground, you've gone too far.
Drive up into the hills on a single lane track with potholes with one vicious dip. It's 5.7 miles to a fork with trail signs.
Make a right on 1840-100 and turn left into meadowy parking area for the Monte Carlo Trail #52.
Via Hood River:
Drive I-84 west and take Exit 64 for Highway 35, White Salmon, and Government Camp. After exiting, turn left on Button Bridge Road and drive 1.1 miles across the Hood River Bridge, paying the $2 toll.
Turn left on Highway 14W for Stevenson and Vancouver, and drive 8.9 miles.
Then make a right turn onto Cook-Underwood Road for Mill A and Willard. Go 5.2 miles and make a left onto Willard Road.
