Driving Directions
Drive east on Highway 26.
From the last traffic light in Sandy, just past the ARCO station, it's 28.0 miles through the communities of Welches, Zigzag, and Rhododendron before you make a right turn for Ski Bowl West and the Mirror Lake Trailhead.
Make another immediate right into the new parking area at the Mirror Lake Trailhead.
Notes
This trailhead was built in 2018 to replace the old trailhead that was located right alongside Highway 26 just west of here. The old trailhead has been decommissioned.
This is the busiest trailhead on Mount Hood, providing easy access to lovely Mirror Lake. If the parking area is full, you will need to use the Ski Bowl West Trailhead, but remember that SnoPark permits are required there in season. You can avoid the crowds by simply hiking on weekdays, or consider a late afternoon hike on the weekend, when crowds thin and alpenglow colors the mountain. Be sure to carry a flashlight or headlamp if you intend to stay past dark, however.
