Little Strawberry Lake

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Revision as of 17:11, 22 December 2016 by Bobcat (Talk | contribs)

Strawberry Mountain from Little Strawberry Lake (bobcat)

Description

The small alpine lake glistens in its glacial cirque below the steep crags of the Rabbit Ears, below which there are large snow fields into the summer. There are several campsites in the trees near the lake and a marshy meadow on its east shore. Mountain goats and deer are common in the vicinity. Mosquito season continues for most of the summer here.

Fishing is reportedly excellent although you'll have better luck wading in than in casting from the very shallow shore.
