Description
June Lake was formed by a volcanic mudflow damming June Creek below a waterfall. The lake is located 1.25 miles up the June Lake Trail. You can climb above the lake and continue on to the Loowit Trail.
On the slopes above the lake, look for a natural curiosity- the inverted tree. It stands upright with its roots in the air. It must have fallen down from the cliffs above and pierced the ground like a javelin.
