Horseshoe Lake (Olallie)

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Revision as of 02:12, 7 April 2017 by Bobcat (Talk | contribs)

Horseshoe Lake in the Olallie Lake Scenic Area (bobcat)

Description

Fourteen-acre Horseshoe Lake's shape inspired its name. It is one of the highest lakes in the Olallie area and thus one of the last to be snow-free. Mosquitoes abound here into August. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout.

There is a concessionaire-operated fee campground at Horseshoe Lake. You will need high clearance to get in here: the last mile of road is not suitable for passenger cars.
