Driving Directions

Drive Highway 26 west from Beaverton.

It’s about 23 miles from the junction of Highway 217 and Highway 26 before you make a right turn onto Highway 47N for Vernonia and Clatskanie.

Drive 4.2 miles and turn right into L.L. “Stub” Stewart State Park. Wind up the park entrance road.

You can turn into the park Welcome Center after 0.5 miles to get information, or continue a total of 1.1 miles to the Hilltop Day Use Area.

Other Notes

  • $5 day use fee: payable at the Welcome Center or at the fee box at the Hilltop Day Use Area
  • Open for day use 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Restrooms, brochures, information kiosks, campgrounds, horse staging area, disc golf
  • Dogs on leash except in the designated off-leash area
  • Share some trails with mountain bikers and horses
  • Some trails could be closed for rerouting or reconstruction
