Gabbert Butte Truck

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

This bus lies forgotten near the summit of South Gresham Butte (Steve Hart)

Description

It might seem odd that a bus would be a worthy destination for a hike, but this old beast is an interesting relic near the summit of Gabbert Hill. Given the steepness of the trail up, any reward might be considered a victory.

The bus is really a utility vehicle that was apparently used in the relocation of water lines associated with the original planning of the much-maligned Mount Hood Freeway, a project abandoned in the 1970s.
