Description
This bridge spans a portion of Eagle Creek about 1/3 mile from the Eagle Creek Trailhead near the Eagle Creek Campground. It allows hikers to continue on Gorge Trail #400 which also connects to the Wauna Viewpoint trail and the Tanner Creek Trail.
This is the third suspension bridge at this location. The first was built in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. In 1936, a second bridge was constructed to replace the first that had washed away. The second bridge did a lot better, lasting until it too washed away in 1997. Today's bridge, the third, was built in 2000.
