Fees and Regulations

  • A Northwest Forest Pass (or America the Beautiful Pass) is needed to park here. One can be purchased on the drive from Hood River at the Ranger Station in Parkdale.

Driving Directions

Via Hood River:

Drive I-84 east to Exit 64 for Highway 35, White Salmon, and Government Camp.

Make a right after exiting and then another right and drive 0.3 miles to a four-way intersection.

Keep straight here on Highway 35 for Odell, Parkdale and Mt. Hood. Drive 18.7 miles to a pullout on the left for the Dog River Trailhead.

This is just past MP 78 and just before 35 crosses the East Fork of the Hood River.
