Description

The original Dog Mountain trail was built to service a fire lookout at Puppy Dog Lookout. The trail was very steep and stayed deep in the forest for most of the distance. To add a little relief to the hike, a new trail was built with an easier grade and better viewpoints. This is the trail junction at the upper end of this new trail.
