Fees & Regulations

  • Discover Pass required
  • Dogs on leash
  • Restrooms, interpretive signs, picnic area
  • Keep out of ranch buildings
  • Open 6:30 a.m. to dusk; no overnight camping
  • Share trails with horses and mountain bikers
  • Watch out for poison oak, ticks, and rattlesnakes

Driving Directions

Drive I-84 east to Exit 87 for Dufur, Bend, and Highway 197. Turn left after exiting for the DMV-DOT, State Police and The Dalles Dam.

Drive 3.5 miles across The Dalles Bridge to the junction with Highway 14. Turn right here for Kennewick and merge.

Drive 3.7 miles east, passing Horsethief Butte, and turn left for the Columbia Hills State Park and the Crawford Oaks Trailhead.

Arrive early on a spring weekend. The parking lot fills up very quickly!
