Company Lake on the 40-mile Loop (romann)

Description

Company Lake is a much altered 16-acre slough in the heart of a former industrial area. It became a Superfund cleanup site following the demolition of the Reynolds Aluminum Plant (The site is now occupied by a FedEx Package Distribution Center) after its closure in 2002. A dense strip of riparian woodland, dominated by tall black cottonwood trees, separates the lake from the Columbia River at Sundial Beach.
