Description
Cedar Island is a West Linn City park accessed via a floating bridge spring through fall via Mary S. Young State Park. The only facilities on the island are the fishing platforms on the lagoon side which allow hopefuls to try their luck with a healthy local bass population. The shoreline of the island is variously cobbles, sand, and mud with interior vegetation composed mainly of cottonwood, ash and willow. There is good blackberry picking here in season.
About half of the original island remains. The lagoon was dredged out in a gravel mining operation.
