  • Expect downed trees; trails indistinct in a couple of places

Driving Directions

From Prineville:

From the intersection of Highway 26 and Main Street in the middle of Prineville, turn right (south) onto Main Street (Highway 27) and drive 0.6 miles.

Then make a left onto S.E. Lynn Boulevard, and proceed 1.0 miles.

Turn right onto Combs Flat Road, which becomes the Paulina Highway (Road 380). Follow this road for 54.5 miles along the Crooked River into Paulina.

Continue east on Paulina-Suplee Road for 3.6 miles before bearing left on Beaver Creek Road, which becomes FR 42.

Go 7.4 miles, and then turn right onto FR 58 for the Sugar Creek Campground and Rager Ranger Station.

Go 1.3 miles, and turn left onto FR 5810 for the Boeing Field Trailhead.

Drive 10.8 miles to a high open saddle and park in the pullout on the left side of the road opposite the sign for the Boeing Field Trail #820A.

Alternate route about the same distance and difficulty:
