From Portland take Interstate 5 north into Washington to Exit 9 and and follow Route 502 as it zigzags towards Battle Ground and intersects Route 503. Turn right and head north on Route 503 for about 5 1/2 miles. Turn right on 319th St and go about 8 miles.  The road changes names, swings back southward then eastward again before becoming Lucia Falls Road. After a while, it comes along side the East Fork of the Lewis River. Watch for Sunset Falls Road just after the Moulton Falls Park sign. Turn right on Sunset Falls Road ([http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=45.83459&lon=-122.38379&s=48&size=l&u=4&datum=nad27&layer=DRG| map]) and follow it for seven miles until you reach Sunset Falls Campground. From the campground, you'll turn right as the paved road relents to gravel. You'll immediately cross a one-lane bridge over the Lewis River, swing left and head uphill quickly as you enter the forest on Road 41. You'll follow Road 41 about 9.5 miles to a open clearing with views all around. The trailhead is not marked and is at the southern end of the large parking area.
